What is Nightline Regensburg?
Nightline is a listening service provided by students for students.
The first Nightline was founded in Essex, England, in 1970. Since then, the idea has spread further and further: today, there are Nightlines in English- and German-speaking countries as well as in France.
Nightline Regensburg was founded in the summer of 2023 and has thus become part of this network.
As part of Nightline Europe and Nightline Förderinitiative we continuously network with other Nightlines to exchange ideas and work on joint projects such as the „Student Mental Health Report” .

As a listening service, we are available Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to midnight, also via our chat and in English.
Students from different disciplines offer their fellow students a sympathetic ear in the evenings. It doesn't matter what the topic is: whether it's heartbreak, stress at university, loneliness, anxiety, or depression—anything can be discussed.
The focus is on listening without evaluating or judging. No advice is given; instead, a space is created for sharing thoughts and feelings.
To ensure that the conversations are handled appropriately, all volunteer members are trained in active listening according to Carl Rogers before their first telephone shift and are familiarized with our principles: anonymity, confidentiality, freedom from prejudice, and low threshold.
